A Small Sign, Once a Day

A Small Sign, Once a Day

Alter Standard began with a few words: "You deserve it." Today's Sign began with an orange book.

It grew out of the Orange Journal, a notebook for writing down the small things you notice. We kept coming back to the same idea: the more you pay attention to small, happy moments, the sharper your own intuition becomes. A sign isn't something the outside world hands you. It's something you learn to recognize in yourself.

That's what Today's Sign is for.

Each set holds ten postcards. Ten different designs: a ladybug, a forest, sunset horses, a feather, a white-tailed deer. Each card carries a short message, and the back is printed in warm orange. Every set comes with a premium envelope, so a card can be kept on your desk or mailed to someone who could use it.

The idea is simple. Draw one card in the morning. Let it sit with you for the day. Some messages will ask for something that feels a little bit of a stretch, and that's intentional.

And then, if someone comes to mind, send them a postcard. One person a day, or one a day for ten days, or ten people in all.

It might be the small step that changes the world you see.

A small step beyond your comfort zone is often where a sign begins to make sense.

The day after my own Orange Journal arrived, wildfire smoke turned all of Toronto orange. The CN Tower, the sun, the whole skyline. We took photos from our rooftop, and I couldn't help thinking: this is why we believe in Today's Sign.

This is a limited edition. We printed only 10 sets, and we won't reprint them. When they're gone, they're gone.
